Book Garden Volunteer Application

The Friends of the Library operate the Book Garden bookstore during normal library hours. We are looking for enthusiastic volunteers to join our team!

Shift Availability

Volunteers must commit to a minimum of 2 hours per shift.

Monday – Thursday: 10:00 am to 6:45 pm
Friday & Saturday: 10:00 am to 4:45 pm
Special shifts are also available for Special Events, Book Sales, and First Thursday Sales.

Requirements & Physical Capabilities

This is an active role rather than a sit-down position. To ensure safety and success, volunteers must be at least 15 years old and physically able to perform the following duties:

Standing for extended periods
Lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs
Bending, stretching, and reaching above eye level
Sorting, alphabetizing, and shelving books
Identifying book genres and placing items correctly
Basic cleaning (dusting, sweeping, and hauling trash to the library dumpster)
Recycling books

Background Check Policy

To ensure the safety of our community, the Friends of the Library conduct background checks on all volunteers.

There is no cost to you.
This process does not require fingerprinting.
